At first I was so glad you were over. It seemed as though you'd been nothing but nasty, and considering you ended with the bang of 2 weeks of sickness, it's not hard to see why I almost cast you off without another look. You delivered every common illness I know. Pink eye, ear infection, colds all around, stomach flu...I didn't think I'd find the surprise of good stuff waiting on my camera when I decided to reflect on you. I'm glad there is cold hard proof this month because my photos reminded me that there was indeed good and happy stuff happening around here.
But March; Let's Roll.
But March; Let's Roll.
Double Pixie Cuts for the Girlies. One blond, one brown. No more crying about the brush before school. Happy.
Cold, strawberry milk morning. Happy.
Self made necklace collection. Happy. Eyelashes on pink cheeks. Happy. Wee knitting projects. Triple happy.
A bald eagle sighting on the way to a snowy, fun adventure. Happy. This photo makes him look far away, but when we spotted him he was resting 20 feet from the road and we could see him very clearly. We actually turned the car around and headed back to take another look just in time to see him launch into flight. Amazing.
A snowy little cabin in the woods. Extremely happy. We loaded up the sleds and back packs to snow shoe into this amazing little cabin 1.5 miles into the back country. The kids did really well and everyone loved this adventure. We'll do this again for sure.
This doesn't even address the reading, knitting and eating we enjoyed. Okay, February. You were fine. You just need to work on your ending next year.

Beautiful photos, Heather. I especially love the blonde and brunette hair (would REALLY love to see the after shots) and the strawberry milk morning.
I want to come over.
I miss you.
A lot.

Oh boy. I though February was just hitting us hard - we had all the same yuck. I need to take a peek at my photos to see if the month was a salvage.
I often wear my hair in a pixie cut...LOVE it. I'm growing it right now, but agree wholeheartedly that it is SO much easier. Whether you are a child, or not. :)
That cabin is right up my alley. We keep talking about renting a cabin the week between Christmas and New Years, to come down from the hustle and bustle. This looks just about perfect.
And not to rub it in, but we have not been sick since September, which means, when it hits us...it's going to hit us SO hard. *Sigh* Not looking forward to that.
Sending love to you friend.

ps - have you used the cookbook yet?
I was just thinking about you this morning. Here's hoping March brings warmth and continuing health for all of you. Your pictures are wonderful. I would love to be in that cabin!
This was just a fun one to read!
Happy!!!

Glad it turned out to be a better month that what you thought! The winter snow shoe getaway makes me a bit jealous. My new snow shoes are still wrapped in plastic in the garage. After the whole wrist/ice/surgery debacle, I'm just going to wait and test them out next year.
